Details on the Athlete Nomination Process for X Games 14.... X Games BMX Rider Nomination Process Idea:  To further involve the BMX community in the X Games BMX rider invitation process and to allow for as fair an invitation process as possible. Synopsis:  Riders and BMX industry people will be issued nomination ballots.  Response will be voluntary and all ballots will remain confidential.  Each balloter will be able to nominate who they think should be considered by the X Games BMX Invitational Committee. This year the XG disciplines and riders to nominate are the following: Vert (10), SuperPark (12), Street (12), Big Air (6).    Who will receive a ballot?  Approximately 60+ of the top riders (based upon the previous year’s competition standings and progressive highlights) and BMX industry people (based on experience, knowledge and current level of involvement in BMX). How will the nominations be used?  Nominations will become part of the existing selection criteria the X Games BMX Invitation Committee uses to determine its selections.  Nominations will be tallied by discipline (Vert, SuperPark, Street & Big Air). The Invite Committee will consider all riders who are nominated in each discipline.  They will closely evaluate the top 20 nominations to be selected as an invite in each category. How will the process work?  Balloters will be sent a nomination form and asked to submit by midnight, Wednesday, June 4. Who's in and when will the athlete names be announced?  Pre-invited riders from either last year’s XG or results from recent International XG events are: 1.    Vert – Jamie Bestwick, Simon Tabron, Kevin Robinson 2.    Street – Garrett Reynolds, Aaron Ross and Van Homan 3.    SuperPark – Daniel Dhers, Scotty Cramner, Dave Mirra. 4.    Big Air – Kevin Robinson, Anthony Napolitan and Steve McCann. The announcement dates for the remaining invites: June 6 - 6 spots in SuperPark, Vert and Street; 2 spots for Big Air June 24 - 4 spots in SuperPark and Street, 2 spots in Vert, 1 spot for Big Air.
