X Games 12
BMX Vert, Vert Best Trick, Dirt and Park Athlete Selection
The following committee will select Nine (9) Riders for BMX Vert, Six (7) riders for Vert Best Trick, Nine (9) Riders for Dirt and Nine (9) Riders for Park at X Games 12 (2006). The Gold Medalists from X Games 11 (Vert: Jamie Bestwick, Vert Best Trick: Jamie Bestwick, Park: Dave Mirra, Dirt: Cory Bohan) receive automatic invites. Two alternates will also be selected for Vert, Park and Dirt disciplines.
Committee:
1) Steve Swope- Former BMX Pro, X Games veteran
competitor, X Games BMX co-organizer, director of events for the
Hoffman Sports Association, X Games BMX TV analysist,
Secretary/Treasurer of the newly formed IBMXFF (International BMX
Freestyle Federation) and President of the newly formed USABMXFF
(United States BMX Freestyle Federation), XG BMX Selection Committee
member 2005.
2) Mike Vincent– Bike rider, HSA judge & X Games judge since 1998,
Roots jam co-organizer 2004, also judges several other BMX events
including the AST, XG BMX Selection Committee member 2005.
3) Mike Castillo– Bike rider, HSA & X Games judge since 1996, also
judges other BMX events including the AST, graphic design artist,
tattooist photographer, XG BMX Selection Committee member 2005.
4) John Povah– Bike rider, Etnies BMX team managor, HSA judge since
2001, also judges other BMX events, XG BMX Selection Committee member
2005.
5) Brian Tunney- BMX Pro, managing editor-Dig BMX
Magazine, HSA judge since 1999, also judges other BMX events, board of
directors of the newly formed USABMXFF (United States BMX Freestyle
Federation), XG BMX Selection Committee member 2005.
6) Leigh Ramsdell- BMX Pro, Eastern Bikes marketing
manager, contributor to Ride Magazine, HSA website editor 2002, veteran
X Games competitor, X Games BMX on-air reporter/interview, HSA judge,
HSA representative for ESPN’s Asian X Tours in 2002 & 2003, board
of directors of the newly formed USABMXFF (United States BMX Freestyle
Federation), XG BMX Selection Committee member 2005.
7) Keith Mulligan- Started racing BMX and riding in 1981. * Former professional BMX rider. * Published 'zines and organized local contests and jams (early 90s). * BMX magazine editor and photographer for over ten years (Snap/Transworld BMX 1996-2005, Ride BMX 2005-current). * Extreme Games judge (1995). * Vans Triple Crown and Dew Action Sports Tour judge (2001-2005).
